Interview with Jun Robles Lana, the director of the film “About Us But Not About Us”, interviewer Edvinas Pukšta
“It's a journey of healing for me, from the time I wrote it to the time I watched it, I feel it has set me free in so many ways.” - Jun Robles Lana
The world premiere of the Philippines title "About Us But Not About Us" is truly both an intellectual and a cinematographic pleasure at this year’s PÖFF. Well orchestrated small budget film with the setting basically consisting of a table, two chairs, two persons talking, one mysterious manuscript and some little food in-between. Jun Lana has said: "Part fiction, and part confessional, the film allowed me to expunge my demons, come to terms with my dark past, and take full control of my narrative".
Jun Robles Lana is the youngest Filipino to be inducted in the Palanca Literary Awards (Philippine’s Pulitzer Prize) Hall of Fame. His first indie film "Bwakaw" won several international awards and was the Philippines’ Oscar entry for Best Foreign Film in 2012.
