An interview with Jani Pösö, the producer and screenwriter of "Snot & Splash", interviewer Kseniia Buzhbetska
"The trailer’s opening scene promptly reveals the theme of the film as a train car chugs through a snowy landscape, a blond boy looks out the window and sees a fridge falling from the sky. “That’s climate change for you,” quips a voice behind him.
The story follows its young heroes Snot and Splash who must take a break from their holiday and save the world from getting sucked into a black hole, more specifically, a crumbling waste disposal system.
By the way, the black hole in the film is not a digital effect at all, but a mechanical black hole built by the film's set designer, for which he deserves a Nobel Prize, according to producer Jani Pösö.
The film's director Teemu Nikki and producer Jani Pösö both worked in an advertising agency, and at one point, when they were once again working on an absolutely gruesome TV ad project, Nikki said, ""Listen, even though our clients are absolutely terrible, we always have so much fun together - why don't we make a short film together?"". Pösö immediately agreed and their first venture together in the film industry came to be called ""Kaveri"", and from there they moved on to start a joint enterprise called ""It's Alive Films"". According to Pösö, the two of them are an odd duo of filmmakers who have worked together for over a decade.
